Founded in Zug
a fresh new player …
In the early days, Passion Food was founded to be a premium private catering company. Much success followed with catering events all over Switzerland.

We also hosted private cooking courses for hobby enthusiasts. Little did we know the path that would follow – however, from the very start, “Passion for Great Food” was the motto of everything we stood for.

Entering the International School Catering scene at ISZL in Zug …
We took over the responsibility of catering for students and teachers at the ISZL – International School of Zug and Lucerne.

Their Upper School campus was at their previous location in Oberwil on the beautiful Lake of Zug. The daily numbers catered for were far from what we do today. However, from this humble beginning, Passion Food started to develop an understanding of the many dynamics associated with International school catering and before long, was gaining attention from other International Schools in Switzerland.

ICS Zumikon & ZIS Wädenswil.…our first taste of “Big School” catering …
As the International School community heard of what Passion Food was trying to achieve, it was not long until we were contacted by both the ICS in Zumikon and ZIS Lower School in Wädenswil.

Both wanted to reinvent their school lunch programme and turned to Passion Food for the solution. As we were then (and still try to be), Passion Food was small, specialized, and agile, with the ability to offer a customised programme based on each of the individual campuses – “not a cookie cutter catering company” was another motto, and this differentiated us from the more prominent players in the market.

Hello ZIS Middle and Upper schools …
Not long after launching at ICS Zumikon and ZIS Lower School in Wädenswil, we were contacted by both the ZIS Middle School in Kilchberg and ZIS Upper School in Adliswil.

They too wanted to energise their catering offer to students, staff, and extracurricular events. Passion Food are very grateful to have had the chance to deliver this mandate from the schools year after year. In fact, only recently have we seen our first wave of students pass through their entire school life from Kindergarten to high school graduation while enrolled on the Passion Food Lunch Programme.

Knowing that we have supported these children’s development and learning is an excellent source of pride.

2010 – 2015
The International School Winterthur years …
For five years, Passion Food had the privilege of being the main catering supplier to the International School of Winterthur.

During this time, our dedicated team delivered a first-class service to the campus, and feedback for the administration there was always top-rated. Unfortunately, in 2015 ISW declared insolvency and closed its doors and sadly their kitchen. However, we truly enjoyed being part of the northern Swiss International community during this time.

ISB Basel – the perfect addition to our family …
Since being awarded the total catering contract for ISB Aesch (LS), Fiechten (MS), and Reinach (US) in 2017, Passion Food not only expanded in terms of catered meals per day and geographical location but also added a further 12 dedicated members of staff to our ranks.

Once again, Passion Food integrated into another regional leader in international schooling and is proud to be a valued stakeholder at the ISB.

2020 – present and beyond
The COVID-19 period was testing for all, but especially in Schools and Gastronomy.

Due to our management, stability, and loyal partners and customers, Passion Food was able to weather the storm and emerge even stronger and more focused on the future. We are determined to operate a flexible and lean model without compromising on quality and of course taste.

Together with our more than 40 highly valued staff, almost 20 years of experience, school administrations, best-in-class suppliers, and over 5000 students per day, Passion Food will continue to deliver “Passion for Great Food” for many years to come.
